Australian deathcore group, Thy Art Is Murder, packs a powerful punch with their live shows. On their most recent tour through the United States promoting their fourth album “Dear Desolation”, released on Nuclear Blast, they played a 13-song setlist filled with old favorites and some new jams including their single “Slaves Beyond Death” which was released as a teaser track ahead of the record.
Vocalist CJ Mahon had complete command of the stage at the Boston date of the tour, much to the excite of Thy Art fans who have been waiting for a North American tour since Mahon returned to the band in January. His vocals rumbled through the small but packed room at Brighton Music Hall.
The last song in the set was “Puppet Master”, one of the more aggressive songs off Dear Desolation with a heavy breakdown at the end perfect for live shows. The fans would’ve been perfectly satisfied if that had been the end but the energy in the room increased exponentially when they came back out with “Holy War” and “Light Bearer” as the encore.
